Our Fishing Waters – Convenient Access Throughout the Southeast

Our diverse fishing locations offer incredible opportunities across some of the region’s premier waters, all easily accessible from major metropolitan areas.

Lake Lanier

– Our most accessible destination sits just 50 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, making it perfect for day trips and weekend getaways. Visitors flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport can reach the lake in approximately 50 minutes, while those driving from downtown Atlanta face an easy 36-minute journey. Located in the rolling foothills of northern Georgia with major access through Buford, Gainesville, and Cumming, Lake Lanier welcomes over 10 million visitors annually and offers excellent striper and hybrid bass fishing in one of the Southeast’s most popular recreational destinations.

Carters Lake

– Nestled in the beautiful North Georgia mountains near Ellijay, Carters Lake offers pristine waters and exceptional trophy fishing opportunities. This crystal-clear mountain lake is renowned for producing some of Georgia’s largest striped bass and hybrid bass, providing an intimate fishing experience away from the crowds.

Lake Nottely

– Located in the scenic North Georgia highlands, Lake Nottely combines mountain beauty with excellent fishing. This pristine lake offers trophy striper fishing in a more secluded setting, perfect for anglers seeking both quality fish and stunning mountain scenery.

Tennessee River System

– For our exclusive trophy expeditions, we venture to the legendary Tennessee River system, where serious anglers pursue true giants. These specialized trips target trophy-class striped bass in some of the Southeast’s most productive waters, offering the ultimate challenge for experienced anglers.

Each location is strategically positioned within 150 miles of Chattanooga, Tennessee and 210 miles of Charlotte, North Carolina, making all our fishing destinations accessible for visitors throughout the Southeast region.

Our passion for fishing extends beyond guided trips. Through our @TeamBackwoodsFishing podcast, we share tips, techniques, and stories that help anglers improve their skills and deepen their appreciation for the sport.
