Captain Jeremy Mullinax –
Jeremy started his guiding career working with other premier guide services on Carters Lake , Lake Lanier and Lake Allatoona. In 2009 Backwoods Fishing Guide was founded by owner and Captain Jeremy Mullinax, since then the 30 year old has grown his business into one of only a few premier full time guide services in North Georgia. Jeremy’s 21’ Carolina skiff Ls is fully equipped with the latest technology a Hummingbird Solix 15 fish finder and a Minnkota Ulterra trolling motor makes fishing easy . He can fish up to 4 anglers comfortably.

Captain Mickey Wheeler –
Mickey has 21 years of fishing experience on Carters Lake , Lake Lanier and Lake Nottely. The 52 year old veteran has also held the Carters Lake record hybrid in years past. A good time is always guaranteed on Mickey’s boat , his outgoing personality and passion for catching fish is what makes him a great guide. Captain Mickey’s 23’ Carolina skiff is the biggest boat in our fleet and is also fully equipped with top notch fishing equipment like Lowrance and Minnkota! He can fish up to 6 anglers comfortably.

Captain Len Slay  –
Len grew up fishing the Tennessee River and Lake Blueridge . The 35 year old has 7 years of striper fishing experience on Carters Lake and Lake Nottely. He has proven to be one of the hardest working guides on the lake. Captain Lens 19’ Nautic Star center console boat is fully equipped with top notch equipment like Simrad fish finders and Minnkota! He can fish up to 4 anglers comfortably.

Captain Russ Dees  –
Russ has been fishing Carters Lake and Lake Nottely for the last 5 years, but the 40 year old grew up as a teenager fishing the Etowah and Oostanaula Rivers . His years of experience and laid back personality is what makes him a perfect fit for our team. Captain Russ is the owner of a 21’ Carolina skiff , fully equipped with the latest technology Hummingbird fish finder and Minnkota trolling motor . He can fish 3-4 anglers comfortably.
